Day 13 - Korea

Last night was our first show in Korea... Camp Essayon - Stalker Club... The crowd danced alot in their chairs on the first set, but by the 2nd set - we had tham all energized! Thus far - this was the toughest show for me to do and my worst performance due to the cold I am currently battling... Our host John informed us that the group of people we were to meet were personnell recently back from Iraq and then sent to Korea for the remainder of their tour... Our mission was hiy em with a jolt of energy... I met a couple of Chicanos from Texas that really dug our sound and will be sending them a cd later on... John our host, also apprised us of the fact that we are not at peace with North Korea and were within small arms fire range from their borders... that this was the condition and the stress that they live with everyday here... We did our best for the troops and by the end of the evening I believe we accomplished our mission. Another cool fact about the night was that before the show we had a chance to also chat with some of the troops and shoot some pool... Really cool guys and girls from all over the country...

Day 14 - Korea

Due to Chu Sok - the Korean Holiday - we never had our welcome briefing with Gene Gerth until today... We got our Military ID cards and ration cards so we can now shop at the PX... The other day - I needed saline for my contact... on the streets of Seoul $25000 won = $23.00 U.S. dollars... at the PX $7.25 You can see how important the ration card is to us out here!!! The down side to the latest event in North Korea affecting everyone here in the South is that there is a 9:00 p.m. curfew... Looks like we're gonna learn alot of Korean watching tv!!! Tonight we're at Camp Stanley...

Day 14 - Camp Stanley

The troops and personnell were great and thanks be to God I had a voice to sing again... A true miracle... Whenever I catch a cold - I'm out for atleast a week... for some reason - I was able to sing!!! I don't know why I didn't do this before - but decided to put out a guest sign in book in order to keep in touch with all the new friends we make... and that went well too! After the show I personally greeted everyone and said goodnight... and even though they thanked us for being there I made sure they new that back home we were all thinking of them and that it was an honor thus far and everytime I take a stage to do a show for any of our troops... thats all for now... g

Day 15 - Korea show #3

Camp Humphrey @ Tommy D's was my best show so far!!! Finally!!! i did the entire second set without the crutch of needing my lyric sheets nearby... The place was hot and crowded and we delivered a great show!!! Its exactly 12:00 midnight/Friday morning here... have to get to bed! nite...

Day 16 - Kunsan Air Base

Tonight... in about 26 minutes to be exact - we'll be playing our 4th show in Korea here at the Loring Lodge at Kunsan Air Base! We just ate dinner and everyone is in their preshow mode... I have to get going myself... It's a Friday night - so we're hoping for a big crowd and definitely aiming to repeat the show we did last night - Which has been our best this tour so far... One other note - Ran into a guy by the name of Brandon, who works on the jet engines here on the base... Local guy from Riverside! He was really surprised to know we were from L.A. and we chatted up a bit! Saw about 6 jets fly over us when we arrived here and one helicopter... I'm still yet to video tape the action!!! Never enough time! Well, gotta j - pce - g
